Community Involvement:
-
Shoe
Box Sharing - Our children collect, sort and pack
shoe boxes filled with items for children in need. We collect
new items such as toothpaste, tooth brushes, combs, socks,
underwear etc. The boxes are then taken to the Redeemer Crisis
Center for children of their same age. The children learn
empathy for others and learn that they can make a difference in
the world.
-
Head
Start Project - The Children have made puppets,
medals, puzzles and books for The Head Start Program. They feel
confidence in themselves in creating projects that help other
children learn.
-
Adopting
an Animal at LENSC (Lake Erie Nature and Science Center)
- The children raise money through bake and bead sales through
their own organization. We have adopted a raccoon and turtles so
far. The children learn about money, organization and how to
work together as a team. The children also learn about the
animals they adopt through the staff at The Lake Erie Nature and
Science Center.
-
We
also reach out to our senior friends at the Knickerbocker
Apartments. - We put on a play during our Summer
Program. The children made crafts for the seniors and sat and
had dessert with them. By doing this the children learn how to
interact and empathize with the seniors in our community.
