Child Safeguarding and Privacy

Protecting the safety, dignity, and privacy of every child in our care.

Bethesda Child Care Centre is committed to protecting the safety, dignity, privacy, and wellbeing of every child in our care. This page explains how we safeguard children and manage information, communication, and access.

Child Protection and Privacy

Bethesda Child Care Centre is committed to protecting the safety, dignity, privacy, and wellbeing of every child in our care.

All child sponsorship updates, photos, letters, visits, and communication are managed carefully by Bethesda staff and follow our child protection and privacy guidelines. Sponsors, donors, visitors, and partners may not contact children privately or share child information, photos, videos, or stories without written permission from Bethesda.

We do not publish children's full names, exact locations, school details, family histories, medical information, court matters, or sensitive personal stories. Any child photo, story, or update is shared only where appropriate consent has been obtained and where sharing is considered safe and respectful.

All visits must be arranged in advance, approved by Bethesda, and supervised. The child's safety and dignity always come first.

Sponsors and Communication

Bethesda manages all communication between sponsors and children. Sponsors may send letters of encouragement through Bethesda staff, and periodic updates on wellbeing and progress are shared where appropriate consent has been obtained and safeguarding review has been completed.

Sponsors may not contact children directly, exchange personal contact details with children, or communicate with children outside of Bethesda's managed process.

Child-specific information, photos, drawings, letters, or messages are only shared where appropriate consent has been obtained and where sharing is considered safe and in the child's best interests.

Visits

All visits to Bethesda must be arranged in advance and approved by Bethesda staff. Visits are supervised at all times and follow our child safeguarding procedures.

Visitors may not have unsupervised access to children. Visitors may not take or share photos or videos of children without prior written permission from Bethesda.

Photography and Media

Photos and videos of children are only taken and shared where appropriate consent has been obtained and where sharing is considered safe, respectful, and in the child's best interests.

Bethesda does not publish children's full names alongside photos. Sponsors, donors, volunteers, and visitors may not post or share images of children publicly without written permission from Bethesda.
